A supply chain analysis of the agri-food sector in Northern Ghana

During the Status Seminar 2025 on Sustainable Land Management in Sub-Sahara Africa, held in Accra, Ghana, researchers gathered to exchange ideas and showcase ongoing work. As part of the seminar, a series of posters were created to present key insights and current progress.

Agri-food systems are crucial for sustainable development, connecting farmers to consumers through complex food supply chains. Rising food demand, climate change, and ecosystem damage threaten their ability to provide nutritious food. This poster present the structure and functions of the various supply chain actors in the study area and assess the level of adoption of sustainable intensification practices. Furthermore it presents a analysis of targeted supply chains and identifies challenges and opportunities for the adoption of sustainable practices along the supply chain.
