Sustainable land management in the intensive rice system in the Podor department by 2035: Foresight to inform action today

Carried out in the framework of the Co-development Project of Innovations for the Sustainable Management of Lands in Family Farming Systems of West Africa (COINS) in the department of Podor, the foresight exercise whose results are presented in this report identifies 33 factors of change likely to impact the trajectories that the SDR could take in the SRI within the department of Podor.

These factors of change are social, technical, economic, environmental, political, etc. The 3 possible futures of sustainable land management are: An optimistic scenario “Golden age of the SRI in Podor”, an intermediate scenario “Semi-green Horizon” and a pessimistic scenario “SRI: erosion of hopes”.
